Physicists
Duties and Responsibilities:
Physicists study the way matter and energy react. There are many types of physicists: some study the nature of time, or the origin of the universe, while others design and perform experiments with equipment such as a particle accelerator and lasers. All of these careers sound interesting, I would just like to research on the physicist topic itself.Salary: $115,870
Education:
Physicist who want a job in research or academics typically need a Ph.D. However, jobs in the federal government only require a bachelor's degree in physics. Some physicists receive a Ph.D in physics for an academic job, but then begin in temporary postdoctoral positions.
Demand For this Career:
Although not needed, many researchers begin a temporary postdoctoral research position for 2 to 3 years, in this time they get to work with many experienced physicists. The qualities a person must have for this job include: analytical skills, math skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, etc. This job is thought to grow 26% from the year 2016 to 2026.
Add a Picture:
Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I think I would like to be one because I would love to use my logical side to find answers the world has left opened. I would love to work with appliances that no one else gets to work with, such as laser beams and particle accelerators.
