Paris

One of the many places I have always yearned to visit is Paris. Ahh Paris the city of beauty and history. Thomas Jefferson once said, "A walk about Paris will provide lessons in culture, art, history, beauty, and a point of life." Paris is one of the most popular cities among travelers, what can I say travelers love to visit the "City of Light". The city is known for it's elegant architecture, from the Eiffel Tower to the cathedral of Notre Dame. A thing that I have learned by doing this research is that the neighborhoods are actually 20 divided arrondissements, or wards, although only eight of them are based in Paris. The first one consists of the Louvre, one of the best art museums in the world, and the Arc de Triomphe . The second "ward" has many banks, stocks exchanges, and some whole sale fashion stores. The Marais, or third ward was, at it's prime, a home to the Jewish population, since then it has undergone some urban inspired renovations. The fourth arrondissement consists of a view to an island in the River Seine and boasts the gorgeous cathedral of Notre Dame. The fifth and sixth wards are urbanly decorated and has come at a main attraction for the Paris University students, here students can eat at cafes and see some entertainment. The seventh is home to the Eiffel Tower and the Musse D'Orsay, dedicated to French Impressionist paintings. And finally the eighth arrondissement is the base for the Arc de Triomphe and the point of the beginning 12 boulevards going to various points of Paris and beyond.

I chose the topic of Paris because I have always wanted to visit it. I have wanted to since I learned about the Eiffel Tower, the mimes surrounding areas of Paris, and the crepes or any desserts served in it's cafes. With this research I have learned something new and I hope you have too.
