Periodontist

Duties and Responsibilities: 

A periodontist treats patients with gum disease or any problems involving the gums and bones surrounding your jaw. They may treat patients with either surgical or non-surgical treatments which may include: placing implants, developing treatment plans, and prpoviding preventative care. They may also do ceosmetic procedures or solve tooth sensitivity issues.

Salary: $168, 697

Education: 

Becoming a periodontist is very similar to the path of a dentist's. This includes a bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of college study, dental school, then a residency in periodontics.

Demand for this Particular Career: 

To become a periodontist you may want to have: attention to detail, manual dexterity, and critical thinking. The job outlook fo this career is the growth of 18%. And when you are a periodontist youneed to be licensed and heve the choice to be board certified.

Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I do not think I would like to be one because in this job you have to work and deal with other people's teeth, which I know I would not be comfortable with. As well as I am a total germophobe.
