Orthodontist

Duties and Responsibilities: 

As an orthodontist your main duty is to make adjustments on your patient's teeth based on what they want done. This can include using braces and retainers to straighten out a patient's teeth or correct bite issues. You will most likely see patients on a monthly basis to undergo a plan of sessions and treatments until it is complete.

Salary: $221, 390

Education: 

To become an orthodontist you need to have a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. As well as a 1 to 2 orthodontic residency for training and a licence, which is needed for dentists in all states, and a board certification in orthodontics.

Demand for this Particular Career: 

This job is thought to grow 18% in the years 2014 to 2024. And most orthodontists should have key skills including: dexterity, attention to detail, good communication, and being organized.

I think I would like to be an orthodontist because 1) the job itself interests me and I would like to learn more while on the job; and 2) the pay is very good. Now I know the job is not only about the pay but that is a large number for a job I could possibly love doing.
